'Musk had finally burrowed himself into my psyche. Laid his eggs under the skin on my neck, like a bastard botfly. I rarely create positive artworks. My oeuvre is all hellscapes and grotesque, tawdry sociopaths. I keep hoping for another positive commission, like my Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery commissions (both in 2019), whereby I created scenes brimming with nice, inspirational people.

I have always loved The Netherlands - the art and football in particular - and during a Musk induced fog of despair on Tuesday morning, I decided to start a Dutch inspired collage. Two whole days of work later I emerged, feeling completely rejuvenated and sent a copy of the collage to Carl (the Cold War Steve Office). He said that he loved it and that he had a friend in the Netherlands who might give some invaluable advice, a big thank you to Mr Richard Foster for the inside track and word on his favourite 'cloggies' too!

I love the final collage and hope I haven't annoyed any Netherlanders with clumsy omissions or inexplicable additions. It is merely a love letter from an English artist, who needed to de-Musk his soul with some oranje schoonheid!' Christopher Spencer aka Cold War Steve
